Listings that do not comply with the listing rules will be removed from our platform. Users who violate these rules may also be subject to a range of enforcement actions, from restrictions to a permanent suspension from the platform.

1. Don't list prohibited products/services, counterfeits or infringing content

People of all ages use Flip, so let's keep it clean and safe. Dangerous, inappropriate and offensive, or illegal products are prohibited from our marketplace. Inappropriate and offensive content includes:

• Content that discriminates or negatively targets specific individuals, groups or organizations 
• Adult content, including pornography and materials with nudity or implied nudity 

At Flip, we also respect the intellectual property rights of others. Any content that infringe on copyrights will be removed from the platform. Please ensure that you are the rightful owner of all images and content used. You are also responsible for ensuring the authenticity of all products listed under your account.

2. Don't list duplicates

Help us foster a fair marketplace, and keep browsing enjoyable and relevant for everyone by listing each product only once. 

Listing the same product in different categories, under different cities in the same country and/or under other accounts are considered duplicate listings. 

3. Ensure your listings are in the right categories 

Listings should be placed in the category that best describes what is being advertised. If your item falls under more than one category, you should select the most relevant category to post your listing. Having listings in the right categories allow buyers to search and discover them easily.

4. Use relevant keywords

Use only relevant and accurate keywords to describe your products/services to create a better browsing experience for all users.

Please refrain from adding keywords that are irrelevant or in large quantities as this would affect the relevancy of buyer's search results.

5. Don't direct users out of the Flip platform 

You may embed links to the product’s information on the internet and promote your Flip listings and stores. You cannot link to other e-commerce or classified platforms.

6. Purely-promotional listings without an intention to sell are not allowed 

Flip is a marketplace where people come to buy or sell products and services. Every listing for sale should advertise a specific product, job or service. Here are examples of listings that are not allowed on Flip: 

• the main purpose of the listing is to promote or provide testimonials for your brand or your company and not to sell any specific product or service
• mentioning all products for sale without describing any of the products in specific details
• requesting for or exchanging feedback and ratings

7. Use only 1 account for all your transaction purposes

We encourage every Flip member to maintain one account on the platform. This improves the trust in the community and helps you to be more successful in selling. With longer time on the platform and more positive reviews, it builds trust and confidence from buyers. 

8. Price your listing correctly

The price set on your listing should reflect the price you are willing to sell the product at. Displaying a fake or unreasonable price on your listing is not allowed. 

9. Use photos that accurately showcase your product or service

The image(s) displayed on your listing must be representative of the product you are advertising. You are encouraged to take actual photos of the product.

Do take photos of any defects/damages of the product so that buyers are fully aware of what they're buying. This helps to build trust with potential buyers, manage expectations on both sides and results in faster and more efficient transactions. Avoid uploading low quality or low-resolution images.

The following images are not allowed on Flip: 

• Downloaded from the internet (unless the owner has given you permission)
• Images uploaded by other users (unless the user has given you permission)
• Contains content considered to be offensive or provocative in nature, for example, models wearing intimate products such as lingerie and undergarments

10. Give your listings a succinct title

Titles should describe the product, job or service provided clearly, including basic details about the product advertised. For example, the condition, size, etc. They should not include phone numbers, price, links, and irrelevant keywords

11. Be detailed and accurate in your listing description

Listing descriptions are important in providing key details about your product and/or services. You are encouraged to provide a complete and accurate description. For products, do specify the condition of the product, such as if the product has any defects or flaws. For services, do specify the type of service in details and your terms and conditions. This helps you to build trust with potential buyers, save your time from answering common questions from buyers, and enable faster and more efficient transactions. 

12. Don't name and shame

Listings must not be defamatory or contain any content that is offensive or harassing in nature. It must also not contain any personal information about another individual.

13. Don't promote hate and violence

We want the world to be safe for all and hence will not allow any content that promotes hate and violence on our marketplace.

List of Prohibited Content (Brunei Darussalam)

There are certain items that are not allowed on Flip at all. They may not necessarily be illegal, however, they do not fit our selling criteria, or are not in the spirit of Flip.

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that the items they are selling complies with local laws and regulations.

Please find below a non-exhaustive guideline on prohibited and restricted items that are not allowed on Flip:

1. Drugs & Tobacco

• ✘ E-vaporizers (e-cigarettes) and related products, such as vape juice/e-liquid, vape refills

• ✘ Tobacco products and other smoke-able products

• ✘ Drugs and drug paraphernalia, such as pipes and bongs

• ✘ Smoking cessation products containing nicotine, such as patches and gum

• ✘ Products containing opium, poppy seeds, marijuana, peyote and other illicit drugs

• ✘ Any products, related devices or products suitable for, intended to be used for taking, or injecting dangerous drugs or that violates any applicable law and/or regulation

2. Adult & Mature Content

• ✘ Pornography and adult material including, but not limited to, pornographic books, magazines, pictures and videos

• ✘ Adult toys, sexual wellness and enhancement products or services

• ✘ Adult industry services and jobs, including escort services and sensual massage services

• ✘ Preloved undergarments or intimate items such as panties and underwear

• ✘ Listings that promote or position products or services in a sexually suggestive manner i.e. contains nudity, implied nudity

• ✘ Contraceptive products

• ✔ Novelty items, such as soft toys and plushies that are not for the use of sexual enhancement or pleasure

2. Animals & Animal Content

• ✘ Human beings, human remains, body parts and bodily fluids
• ✘ Live animals and insects
• ✘ Any items that are or are made from or include any part of an animal that is subject to regulations or laws for the protection of live animals, including endangered/exotic species and domesticated animals, including but not limited to, pangolin scales, ivory, rhinoceros horn, tiger bone, bear bile, bear paw
• ✔ Leather products
• ✔ Live insects used as bait or feed
• ✔ Taxidermy
• ✔ Wigs or hair extensions

3. Counterfeit & Replica Items

• ✘ Counterfeit items

• ✘ Items and services that infringe any third party's copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary or intellectual property rights including, but not limited to, unauthorized sale of eBooks, films, video games, etc.

4. Weapons, Ammunitions & Accessories

• In general, products intended for physical harm or could cause grievous harm are not allowed.
• ✘ Knives, swords and hand weapons, including but not limited to
• ✘ Machete, parang, sickle, kukri, axe, sword, bayonet, dagger, flick knife, karambit, katana, cane knife, hunting knife
• ✘ Any knife the blade of which is exposed by a spring or other mechanical or electric device
• ✘ Any bladed or pointed weapon designed to be used in a fashion whereby the handle is held in a clenched fist and the blade or point protrudes between the fingers of the fist
• ✔ Display or collectibles stated to be no longer functioning or harmful
• ✔ Domestic, culinary and kitchen knives
• ✔ Utility knives
• ✔ Swiss Army knives without spring
• ✔ Pen knives
• ✔ Fencing swords
• ✘ Firearms, ammunition and explosives, including but not limited to:
• ✘ All kinds of guns with lethal metal or bullets, such as artillery, shoulder-fire weapons, machine guns, submachine guns, cartridge guns, automatic rifles, ordinary rifles, carbines, pistols, pen guns, gas guns, anesthesia guns, shotguns, air guns, spear gun, etc.
• ✘ Airsoft Gun
• ✘ Any form of modified toy guns, paintball guns, BB guns
• ✘ Paraphernalia that could be mistaken as firearm
• ✔ Toy guns e.g. Nerf Gun
• ✘ Other weapons (e.g. batons, handcuffs, nunchaku, tasers, imitation firearms, concealed weapons, knuckle dusters, blow pipe, bow & arrow, catapult, slingshot)
• ✘ Related accessories
• ✘ Firearm-related accessories e.g. scope, silencer, magazine, carb stock
• ✘ Blank/dummy cartridges
• ✘ Bulletproof vest
• ✘ Any item that infringes or violates any applicable laws and regulations. For the avoidance of doubt, you shall obtain all authority, licenses, permits and/or consents required and necessary

5. Government/Law Enforcement Issued Items

• ✘ Any clothing article that closely resembles a government-issued uniform (e.g. police, traffic warden, government flying service)

6. Items that are illegal, unlicensed and/or unauthorized or may encourage illegal activities

• ✘ Stolen or illegal goods (in part or in whole)
• ✘ Items or listings that promote, support or seek to engage users in illegal activities
• ✘ Unlicensed or unauthorized transport and accommodation services
• ✘ Unlicensed lottery tickets and tickets offering illegal payouts
• ✘ Any unauthorized or unlicensed decoder or device designed or intended for the transmission or transmission of radio waves
• ✘ Items or articles belonging to or relating to any triad society
• ✘ Listings promoting Multi-Level-Marketing programs, Get-Rich-Quick schemes, Investment schemes, Pyramid selling schemes, Fast cash schemes, Commission-only schemes, gambling 

7. Medical & Healthcare Items

• ✘ Any consumables with slimming/weight loss effect

• ✘ Over the counter medicine
• ✘ Prescription drugs
• ✘ Injectable health or cosmetic substances
• ✘ Contact lenses
• ✘ COVID-19 test kits
• ✘ Medicinal and healthcare products/services claiming to treat or cure any condition which requires the attention of a registered medical or other qualified practitioners
• ✘ Any products found to contain banned substances and/or are identified to cause adverse side effects.

• ✘ Any drugs, poisons, antibiotics, pharmaceutical products that violates any applicable law and/or regulations.

8. Offensive Materials

• ✘ Content that incite feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races and/or classes of the population
• ✘ Content that seeks to shame others and/or reveal personal information of others

9. Consumables of the following

• ✘ Food containing prohibited substances/substances in excess of permitted proportions

• ✘ Food unfit for human consumption (e.g. expired food)
• ✘ Opened or partially consumed food
• Sellers who list perishable food items should ensure that the goods are:
• ✔ Properly and safely packaged for
• ✔ Handled in accordance with local food hygiene practices & guidelines
• ✔ Alcohol and alcoholic beverages 

• ✘ Intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor

10. Fireworks, explosives, or any hazardous material or restricted chemicals

• ✘ Ammunitions & explosives, inclusive of display or collectibles – regardless if stated as no longer functioning or harmful 

• ✘ Fireworks & firecrackers
• ✘ Pop-pop

• ✘ All firecrackers fired from the ground – fireworks, cupolas, crackers, water mandarin ducks, and cannons

11. Religious products of the following supernatural claims

• ✘ Containing animal or human remains as outlined in prohibited items point (3)

• ✘ Products or services promoting supernatural claims and/or acts of the following nature:
• ✘ Ability to manipulate or gain control over someone else
• ✘ Betting and gambling
• ✘ Cause harm against others
• ✘ Religious products-related testimonial listings are not allowed – listing should have a purpose of selling an item/service
• ✘ Use of listing images relating to money/gambling

• Products or services promoting supernatural claims and/or acts of the following nature are allowed if they do not make any definitive statements/claims (e.g. ✔ "believed to xxx",  ✔ "known to be xxx", ✘ "will bring about xxx")

12. Beauty & Aesthetic Services

• ✘ Genital modification

• ✘ Body Modification

• ✘ Cosmetic surgeries

• ✘ Bust enlargement, toning, lifting, firming services

• ✘ Crash diets

• ✘ Slimming services

• ✘ Any invasive procedures

• ✔ Body and facial whitening

• ✔ Eyebrow embroidery

• ✔ Eyelash extensions 

13. Others

• ✘ Industrial-grade pesticides

• ✘ Any sale, resale or sharing of digital subscriptions and accounts for streaming services, including, but not limited to Cable TV, Netflix, Spotify, Hulu etc.

• ✘ Digital licenses and product keys (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe software)

• ✘ Listings seeking to look for personal relationships

• ✘ Money lending/ financial loan services (e.g personal loans, auto loans, student loans, mortgage loans)

• ✘ Bank transfer and payment helper services

• ✘ Recalled items

• ✘ Unauthorized reproduction of currencies

• ✘ Listings where photographs of the currency are depicted in whole and flat to the camera but do not have the word “Specimen”

• ✘ Shares, stock and other securities

• ✘ Cryptocurrencies

• ✘ Content that exaggerates beneficial/health effects of a product

• ✘ Content that misleads or misrepresents a product

• ✘ Political or seditious materials

• ✘ Any listing or item that violates any applicable law and/or regulation or which Flip determines is inappropriate for sale through the services provided by Flip
